Welcome to Take Control with Nicole, as business owners, we experience firsthand the fine line between our personal and business lives. During our conversations, we will look at simple hints and tips to create time, reduce, overwhelm, and help you to navigate through your journey to where you want to be. If you’re looking for smarter ways to work, and create space and time freedom in your day, then you’re in the right place. All right, let’s go.

Nicole Smith
Hello, hello, and welcome back to Take Control with Nicole. Today, I would love to ask you a question. Take a moment, sit here in this moment and be present right now and ask yourself are you settling with the systems that you have in your business right now? It’s a funny question. Because we have already invested quite a lot of time potentially, in designing, creating and connecting these into our businesses and into our worlds. But do we ever actually stop and think is this serving me in the moment we are right now? Absolutely, it was perfect for the moment that you selected that system for your business. But we all know that everything in business and in life evolves, we learn new things we bring on new team members, we transition from one service to another. However, as part of that journey, as part of that evolution through from there to here, where you are right in this moment, have you given that thought to does my systems or solutions of workflows and processes still actually support the journey that I am now on going forward into building big, whatever that means for you.

Nicole Smith
This is not an uncommon problem, or an uncommon arrival. I’ve been in many situations personally and also with my colleagues in the especially in the big organisations where they have introduced these solutions and just expect the team to come along and just press the buttons and work with all of those friction areas that may be causing in the business. However, as business owners in this small business space, we actually have a lot more flexibility in stopping, reviewing, evaluating, and then evolving your systems into what is actually going to be working for you. We want to be able to create a business that is harmonious connecting our teams and the tech together, but also that we actually enjoy.

Nicole Smith
What I would love to see is that when we are looking at our businesses, and we’re moving through all the moving pieces and dancing together, is that we find that moment of friction. And just be curious about what is causing that particular thing at that moment. Is it that you as a person have evolved, and know that you no longer want to be doing that part of the puzzle, it’s still essential, but you don’t want to be doing that bit anymore. So maybe it’s a perfect time for delegation, to bring somebody in to actually support those areas of your business that you really don’t want to be doing anymore.

Nicole Smith
Hey there, just interrupting this episode to share with you a guide that you are going to want to explore. Are you a ClickUp user at the moment or have you been sitting on the fence and hearing me talk about it each and every week and just wondering, what is the next step to take? Well, I’ve created a guide that’s going to support you on your journey to really design your clickup spaces, be able to create those and then connect them into the way that your business operates each and every day. My community have told me that this guide has been a game changer in the way that they really look at their ClickUp workspaces, and operate each and every day. And you can access it as well. So pop on over to my website, theartisans.com.au\freebies, and access the action takers guide to ClickUp. How fabulous that you know, you’re ready to evolve your clickup journey. You’re ready to move from where you are right now, to where you have always known you want to be. Reach out, let me know I love to hear all about your journey in clickup so I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Nicole Smith
Or is it that your processes have changed? And so you’re still trying to squish your way through the old way of operating versus actually taking a moment to just breathe and to really be present and find that place. that friction point, and just tweaking it that small amount, it could be adding or removing a step, it could be discovering that that system that you’ve always loved is no longer serving the requirements for your business, the functionality requirements for your business has changed. And that system no longer actually is the one for you. Having that moment thinking, looking, evolving, and guess what, you’re allowed to do that. If you need permission, this is it. Here it is right now. But you actually have the full control in your business to decide what is going to be the best for you and your team as they grow and evolve and look at all those fabulous things that you’re doing each and every day.

Nicole Smith
I know in my ClickUp, this is a conversation I have all the time with with my members lounge community and my community online, that we’re always evolving things, there’s always a new way of doing. If we were to, if I was to have still be working in the design that I originally started two years ago, it would be clunky, it would be painful, I probably wouldn’t be able to find anything anymore, because we’ve got all these new offerings, etc happening. Whereas now every time I come against a moment that just feels a bit icky or my team aren’t clear on something, we dive in a little bit, scratch the surface, look below and actually find what is the point that is causing that friction, redesign it, save over that template, add those new steps in. And of course, right the process manual, press record on loom. Hey, guys, this is our new process. And this is how we’re doing it step by step. This is where you will find the templates. This is how you action items. This is the expectation of timeframes when these actions should be completed and how frequently this is actually required.

Nicole Smith
So today, have a think about it as you’re moving through your work and going from task to task, action to action and encourage your team to do the same thing. If you’re discovering that something just feels even the slightest bit not right, jot it down, create some space and become curious as to why that is occurring. Well, I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day and enjoy creating space and time freedom bye now.

Nicole Smith
Well, there we go. Thank you so much for joining me today. It’s been such a pleasure having you on board. Have we connected on socials yet? If not, please come on over say hi, I’m on all the platforms @theartisansolutions. So I’d really look forward to seeing you over there.
