Welcome to take control with Nicole. As business owners, we experienced firsthand the fine line between our personal and business life. Hello, hello. And thank you for joining me here for a fabulous episode of take control with Nicole. Now firstly, I just wanted to say thank you to each and every one of you who are tuning in each week, we have just kicked over the 1000 download mark for the podcast. And I am so excited that you are loving the content we’re putting out and that you’re tuning in each and every week. So just like to firstly say, Yes, thank you.

Are you building a business? Or are you creating a job for yourself? Now, that’s a funny topic, isn’t it? Because I know that when we decide, yes, we’re gonna go out on our own. And we are going to start and open the doors to our own business. That is such an exciting time in the world of an entrepreneur and really like taking that big bold step into the new way of how you are going to be not as person, but just in the grand scheme of how you are working each and every day. And we have these dreams of how this looks like or how the the world perceives what an entrepreneurial world can look like. You imagine that working from the coffee shops, and you know, but designing the day that you want and, and, you know, all these, going on the trips when COVID allows us – we’re still in lockdown here in Melbourne. But that’s gonna change at some point we’ll be able to travel soon, which is fabulous. And yes, we had the opportunity to design your day the way you want to, to build the business that you’d like to see and work in and work for each and every day.

However, what I have seen to happen time and time and time again, is these fabulous business owners start the intent of this designing their business. And then all of a sudden, they’re working all the hours, they’re doing all the things, they’re just got work coming out of their ears, they have a lose track of maybe not lose track, but the personal world just go off into the ether because they’re so focused in on the job, the job of the business, the reactive work that can come as being a business owner, there are so many hats that we wear as an entrepreneur, we look after head of social media and marketing. We are head of finance, we are head of client relations, we are head of operations where the CEO with a COO with a CIO, where all the C’s and I’s and O’s and all the things. But is that what we actually want? Is that how we imagined running our businesses? Is this something that you’re now just realising? Hang on a second, this was not my intention when I stepped out into the entrepreneurial space. And you know what I say how fabulous because you are now aware, we’re aware that there is another way of doing this, of being a crawling of creating a world creating a business that is going to be a business and not a job.

I know that I love what I do. I love working with my clients. I love supporting my fabulous community and the members lounge. But you know what I love even more the freedom of choice to be able to decide how my day looks, how I want to be doing things who I want to be working with how I can support people choice. Now the choice comes down to The fact that when I’ve built my business, I have thought about things in a way that do not always need me involved. So can your business run without you? Now, I’m not saying that it needs to run without you 24/7. But do you have things in place that are going to support you, if you decide that you are going to take a leave of absence? Or that you actually just want to move over into this other space for a little moment? Now, how could this look like this could be that you are bringing on a team to support you. Now, when I told Tim It doesn’t mean employees, although it could, it could mean subcontracting your social media planning your you know, your creation of your online programme, it could be that your admin of your business to manage the amount of incoming emails and inquiries is managed by somebody else. Oh, is it that you are designing your business in a way that you’ve got all these beautiful systems, these beautiful processes that are really saving you time and energy each and every day?

I have to say that when I support my clients, and I see where they are right now, and the transformational journey that we go through together, to arrive at that other end, and then feeling just so he is it’s easy. Now, I know that I understand how to plan my world, my day, my month, my years. I know exactly how and where and what I’m going to be doing. And who was responsible for x y z. And so really, it’s gone from the doing the doing the doing the doing, to the experiencing, I think about it like that I want to experience my my world and my business and how I love doing all the things that I choose to do. Staying in that zone of genius staying in that space that I know I add value.

So let’s go back to the why. Why did we actually start our businesses? What was the reason we took that step off the employment ladder and over into the entrepreneurial space. Understanding your why will really help you to design the ecosystem that’s going to support your business to become a business that you absolutely love growing, being in doing living all the things each and every day. So today, I would love you to take this opportunity just to pause for a moment, create that opportunity to think in. ask yourself that question. Am I building a business? Or am I creating a job for myself? how fabulous when you do take that opportunity to stop and reflect and it’s amazing what you can discover. Remember, the business is not a stuck fixed structure. Every time we learn something new, every day, every client interaction, every interaction with our community. Every podcast, we listen to every piece of content we read. We are acquiring knowledge and how fabulous because our businesses and our personal knowledge. We keep evolving, evolving, evolving. That is what’s so fabulous about creating your own business.
