Hello, and welcome to another episode of Take Control with Nicole. Today, I have just arrived at my desk and had the inspiration to jump on and record this episode. I’ve just returned from a fabulous weekend away. It was my husband Simon’s birthday yesterday and we booked a long weekend down in the beautiful location of Ocean Grove, which is down on the Bellarine Peninsula here in Victoria. If you have not been yet, next time you come into Melbourne, make sure you pop on over, have a look and just experience what a beautiful piece of the world it is down there. And I have to say I’ve arrived back feeling so refreshed and so amazing. The house was beautiful, we had a fireplace in there. There was a beautiful little garden that the dog could run around and the kids could go crazy and have Nerf gun battles in the, you know, the toy box outside. They actually wanted to be outside even though it’s a little bit chilly here in Melbourne still. It was just a beautiful lifestyle that we experienced for just those few moments in time. Going away and allowing yourself to have that space has definitely been a focus for our family. I actually went through my calendar, I think it was about two months ago, and intentionally blocked out even more time away if I noticed that that was something that even though we had intended to do, we had not been actioning there was this really big story, a big money mindset story that I’m working through at the moment with the amazing Stephanie Minere, and being able to know that in my personal world that money flows in and out as easily as it does in my business world. Now, I think about a number of years ago, gosh, it must have been eight or so years ago definitely before Sebastian was born. And I was working in beautiful job was really enjoying it making some you know, some good money as an employed person. And this is actually about perfume randomly know about business at all. But I was finding I love to get dressed up, makeup, hair, nails, always have accessories, it’s always been me if you see me in the pictures, you meet me in person, I’m exactly the same human. But I realised that I was buying this perfume that I didn’t enjoy. Because it was, you know, the $60 bottle, the $80 bottle, something like that. So I’d buy these multiple bottles of things, and end up having half used bottles of things, because I didn’t actually enjoy wearing it. So I made the decision back then I’m going to pick my signature scent. And my signature scent is Mademoiselle by Chanel. And I’ve got it here, you probably won’t see the video, but it’s in this beautiful little travel case. It’s a great experience. It’s so silky and smooth. It’s my scent. I love it. And at the time, it wasn’t extravagance to go and you know, I think it’s $200 and something a bottle, $300 a bottle, whatever. And I remember when I first bought it some people like that’s a lot of money for perfume. And I said yes, but I love it. And it makes me feel amazing.

Hey there, just interrupting this episode to share with you a guide that you are going to want to explore. Are you a ClickUp user at the moment? Or have you been sitting on the fence and hearing me talk about it each and every week? And just wondering, what is the next step to tech? Well, I’ve created a guide that’s going to support you on your journey to really design your clickup spaces, be able to create those and then connect them into the way that your business operates each and every day. My community have told me that this guide has been a game changer in the way that they really look at their ClickUp workspaces and operate each and every day. And you can access it as well. So pop on over to my website, theartisans.com/freebies and access the action takers got to ClickUp. How fabulous that you know you’re ready to evolve your ClickUp journey. You’re ready to move from where you are right now, to where you have always known you want to be. Reach out, let me know I love to hear all about your journey in ClickUp. So I look forward to hearing from you soon.

And every time I wear it, people are like, “ah, I know that that’s you, that’s your scent, that’s you and the way that you are being Nicole”. So I started to think about this because what I realised was that I had run out of my perfume over the last two years, hadn’t really been venturing out so much. So it hadn’t been as important an item to have in a constant supply in my world. And I didn’t realise the impact one little item was having, because it used to be part of my routine, I would get ready, I’d go do my makeup, my hair, my earrings, and then spray my perfume as I walked out the door. And I would go to events and you know, the start of the year and I realised I didn’t have that perfume and I was scrounging around to find the things. So a few weeks ago, I went into my local Myer, went straight up, asked for exactly what I wanted, tap that card. And now I have it back. And I have to say that little action of investing in something that I know I love, that makes me feel amazing. That is really a beautiful experience from the moment that you get it out of your handbag and you press that button at the top to push down to spread on and the feeling that I know that this is something I will always use printing that back into our businesses, I think about when we first start, there can be these extravagances that may not seem to be maybe the best investment at the time, right. However, when we go and try and bandaid things and maybe go for the cheaper option, because that seems to be the right fit. I’ve found from experience that it’s always like those half used bottles of perfume. It does the job, I smell nice for the day, but long term, it’s not the right scent for me. So wherever you’re at in your business right now, if you feel there are those moments that you’ve got those six half empty bottles of perfume in your room, take a moment to think okay, what is the solution that I actually need? That will take me that next step towards my building big, fabulous. So thanks for listening to my random story about perfume.

I’m gonna go now and actually put some on for today. I’m not going anywhere. But this is just as much as it’s for me as it is for everyone else who walks past me. Whatever you’re up to today, I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day. And enjoy creating space and time freedom. Bye now.
